I caught myself rushing through lunch the other day while simultaneously checking my Facebook page. Before I knew it, my plate was empty and I forgot what I had even eaten. I was not even paying attention to what was on my plate. I call this “eating amnesia”! Does that ever happen to you?

Have I already forgotten about the Blue Zones? More about that in a bit! Did you know the average American eats their lunch in seven minutes at their desk? Seven minutes and then back to work.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Italians take a two-hour lunch break with their family, also called a “pausa pranzo.” Not only do they take almost four times as long to enjoy it, but they also never eat alone.
