What's In Season - August
Golden afternoons and dewy mornings bring sun-warmed tomatoes, crisp beans, juicy stone fruits, and sweet corn. August brings the golden finale of summer’s bounty!
Hello, August!
This month is a true celebration of color and flavor—summer produce is at its peak, and it’s the perfect time to “taste the rainbow.” I am still enjoying all of my favorite produce from juicy peaches and watermelon to crisp cucumbers, ripe tomatoes, and tender okra. The variety feels endless—and delicious.
Eating seasonally is a key part of the Mediterranean Diet. It offers so many benefits, from a friendlier grocery budget to more flavor in your recipes and better health. The beautiful foods of summer are rich in nutrients that help reduce inflammation, boost hydration, and support overall wellness.
The heat in Houston is real right now! So we’re leaning into no-cook and minimal-cook meals that are light, refreshing, and nourishing. Remember, eating well doesn’t have to be complicated. Keep it simple, colorful, and full of flavor as you savor the final month of summer!
