Holding the Texas Community Close
Like so many of you, we’ve been heartbroken by the tragedy in Texas. If you feel led to help, here are four trusted organizations providing rescue, relief, & recovery support for the Texas Community.
Dear friends,
Like so many of you, we’ve been heartbroken by the tragedy in Texas, especially the devastating loss at Camp Mystic. My daughters went to Camp Mystic. Our lives have been shaped by its beautiful traditions and tight-knit sisterhood. This heartbreak feels incredibly close.
These Texas camps hold such a special place in so many hearts. They’re more than just summer getaways. They’re places that shape girls into young women, where lifelong friendships, faith, and resilience are woven into everyday life.
As parents, we know our hearts live outside our bodies. In our children, our families, our communities. When tragedy strikes another family’s child, the ache is so deep it’s hard to put into words. It’s impossible to imagine what these families are facing right now.
We’re also thinking of every family in Kerr County who has lost loved ones, whether they were camping, spending time along the river, or simply at home. So many in this community are hurting, and they need our continued prayers and support in the days ahead.
We are deeply grateful for all the helpers — the first responders, search and rescue teams, and countless volunteers who have come forward with courage and compassion. We’re praying for their safety and strength as they continue this heroic work.
We had a Summer Travel Guide post ready for you this week, but it didn’t feel right to send it out as usual.
Sometimes life asks us to pause. To hold space for sorrow and gratitude at the same time. To hug our people tighter, to take nothing for granted, and to show up however we can for those who need it most.
If you feel led to help, here are four trusted organizations providing rescue, relief, and recovery support in the aftermath of this tragedy:
Kerr County Flood Relief Fund — Supporting ongoing rescue, relief, and recovery in the Texas Hill Country.
Texas Search and Rescue — Assisting in locating and recovering those still missing.
World Central Kitchen — Providing fresh meals for first responders, volunteers, and families.
Mercy Chefs — Serving hot meals to flood victims and communities in crisis.
We’re holding the families, children, and everyone affected close in our hearts. We hope you’ll join us in surrounding them with love and support in any way you can.
We’ll be back next week with our monthly meal plan, but for now, we’re taking a pause, saying extra prayers, and hugging our loved ones a little tighter.
With love and gratitude,
Pam and the Team
Beautifully said.
